2nd Annual Serving Up Solutions Raises $46K
FRANKFORT (3/29/19) – The second annual Serving Up Solutions dinner in February raised $46,235 in ticket sales and sponsorships, Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles announced.
The dinner benefited Feeding Kentucky (formerly the Kentucky Association of Food Banks), Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, and GleanKY. Proceeds amounted to more than double those of the inaugural dinner in 2018.
Here’s how Kentucky taxpayers can help feed the hungry
Nearly one in six Kentuckians — including one in five Kentucky children — don’t know where their next meal will come from at some point in the year. That’s why I launched the Kentucky Hunger Initiative nearly three years ago: to combat the unfortunate reality that so many of our friends and neighbors are food insecure. With tax season upon us, you can “check the box” to join the fight to reduce hunger in Kentucky.
Deadline is April 5 for Farmers to Sign Up To Sell ‘Ugly’ Produce to ‘Farms to Food Banks’
Eastern Kentucky farmers interested in applying to participate in a special Farms to Food Banks pilot project should apply by April 5 at FeedingKy.org.
