Study: Nearly 1 in 5 older Kentuckians food insecure
A new study finds Kentucky has the highest rate of older adult food insecurity in the nation.

‘Map the Meal Gap’ Shows 650,000 Kentucky Residents Are Food Insecure
The Map the Meal Gap 2019 report by Feeding America shows that Kentucky has more than 650,000 residents who are food insecure.
A food pantry in Bardstown is helping to close that meal gap for 700 local families who choose their own groceries.
Despite decrease, child food insecurity remains widespread
In Kentucky, nearly one in five children does not know where his or her next meal will come from.
Although the rate of food insecurity has been on a downward trend in Kentucky over the last three years, according to Feeding America’s 2019 Map the Meal Gap study, the rate remains more severe for children than adults.
