No Kid Hungry Kentucky Awards Over $90,000 to Expand Summer Meal Access in Rural Communities
When school’s out, hunger doesn’t take a break. For many Kentucky kids, especially in rural areas, summer can be one of the hungriest times of the year. In Kentucky more than 753,000 residents, or 1 in 6, face hunger. They often don’t know where and when their next meal will be.
That sobering statistic is felt daily across the commonwealth — from families forced to choose between groceries and rent to schools struggling to meet students’ basic needs.
Nearly $390,000 raised for food and housing insecurity through Clays for a Cause
Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance hosted its seventh annual Clays for a Cause fundraising event, bringing in $389,473 in charitable donations to support the fight against food and housing insecurity in Kentucky.
This event has raised nearly $2.1 million in charitable donations since its inaugural shoot in 2019.
