Through the Farms to Food Banks program, we purchase produce that would typically be plowed under at the end of the growing season, even though it is fresh and edible, because of a lack of market for it. Our intent is to pay fair prices that help farmers recoup losses while diverting what would have been wasted food to struggling Kentuckians. The produce is distributed free-of-charge through the food bank network.

The KY Kids Eat campaign is working to tackle the complex issue of childhood hunger through a statewide cross-sector collaborative that identifies barriers and opportunities to increase access to federal nutrition programs among Kentucky’s children.
