Louisville honors 9-year-old boy whose death helped kick-start Dare to Care’s food bank

It’s been 50 years since the death of 9-year-old Bobby Ellis. He was just 22 pounds when he died from malnutrition. His death rocked the community and soon after, led to the creation of the Dare to Care food bank.

Nicki Ellis, who lost her brother Bobby says she’s at a loss for words by the number of people who came out to celebrate his life.

New series educates Kentuckians on how to prepare wild game.

FRANKFORT – The Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA) and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources are teaming up to raise awareness about “Cook Wild Kentucky,” a new recipe card series from the University of Kentucky’s (UK) College of Agriculture, Food and Environment aimed at educating Kentuckians on how to prepare wild game.
